The Drum & Harp Project

This project shines a spotlight on two powerful musical forces: the drumline and the harp ensemble. By bringing these two distinct groups together, we create a shared musical language that every student can speak—music!

Both the drumline and harp ensemble are made up of vibrant, creative students learning to express themselves through sound. Pairing these unconventional instruments not only challenges the norm but also broadens the musical horizons of our students, most of whom come from historically marginalized communities.

Through this collaboration, students will gain rich musical knowledge
while building confidence, focus, teamwork, and stage presence—all
nurtured through consistent weekly classes. This unique pairing is
more than just a performance opportunity; it’s a transformative
experience in musical growth and self-expression.
